It was our last full day and both we and the boat are ready. We spent the morning swimming with Fitzroy and his dogs.
Roy picked us up in the afternoon and took us up to his and Susan’s house for a last get-together and barbecue. We had a wonderful time and it was the perfect way to end the season.
We tried to sleep late but we both were up and ready for action at our
usual time. After a nice breakfast we returned a few of our kitchen items to
the boat and then called Fitzroy to come a take our remaining provisions.
It was 9:30AM and our flight was not scheduled to leave until 4PM. We went for a last walk up the exercise hill and made our way into town to pick up some local rum to take home. On the way we said our good-byes to everyone. We had lunch at the Lazy Turtle then finally called Fitzroy to drive us to the airport at 2:30PM. He questioned why we would want to go so early and the only reason was that we didn’t have any other way to kill time.
Once at the airport the time passed very quickly. We flew to Grenada on SVG Airlines. There were six of us on the flight and I was sitting right behind the pilot. I asked the pilot to fly by Susan and Roy’s house which he did so we could take a picture. I was also able to get a picture of the Haulout in Tyrrel Bay where Wind-Borne is stored on the hard.
We arrived in Grenada 20 minutes later and then had to wait for our
flight to Trinidad which was not for a few more hours. We went upstairs in
the airport to the restaurant for dinner and free wifi.
It was 9:30PM when we arrived in Trinidad and took a quick shuttle bus to the Holiday Inn.
We had a great night sleep and our flight from Trinidad to Toronto with Caribbean Airlines left on time and arrived in Toronto a little early.
That’s it for this season. We will return to the Caribbean in mid November.
